A time for Darrell

Today I took time for Darrell just to get away from the phone, the office, the T.V. and such things. I packed my a light lunch, book, and a bottle of water and headed for a nature preserve I had just heard about a couple of weks ago. It is only about 15 minutes from home and a good place to go just to destress as I sometimes say. As I was sitting there eating and reading I realized ther was no other sound than nature and how peaceful that was. After eating my lunch and reading I headed out for the trails which went by a small pond then into the woods. My first encounter with nature was a spider web that had spun a web between two trees right in the middle of the trail which I was walking on. For you who do not know me and spiders ae not the best of friends. After getting around the spider web I started seeing other signs of nature such as deer tracks and other animal tracks at one point there were even some very small frogs that were trying to get away from a human. One trail ended up overlooking a small lake, I took advantage of the benches that were placed by this lake and just sat and watched and listened and prayed. The lake was so still that all of the clouds reflected off of this body of water. It was then that I thought about the time that Jesus calmed the storm and imagined the water had that calmness about it. Then God said to me I can calm your life storms just as I calmed the storm that scared the disicple so bad or I can calm you and all I need to do is trust in Him. I thank God for the bit of respite that I had today in his creation called nature.
Blessings
