Two Mile Prayer Time

On June 9th and 10 th my wife and I became a part of a program to improve the physical health, the financial health, and church health of the pastor and his wife. In these two days we heard from some who have had physical problems in days and years past and how finding out what was wrong and how they became healthier had changed their life. About 2 weeks after these two days I got a call from a nurse who told me that first of all I had Sugar diabetes and second that I was dangerously over weight and the plan was to see my doctor, begin to excesise, and eat healthier. I have to admit that none of this sounded like fun and I started thinking why did I even want to go to this Health and Welness Summit, but I did and now go along with the plan. So I saw the doctor, saw a dietician, and began walking. I soon was up to 1 and a half miles of walking at one time and then 2 miles andI have even don 2 1/2 miles. While I have lost weight and have started eating healthier and I feel better the neatest thing that has come from it is the 2 miles of praying I do I talk to God and he talks to me. I have started praying for the occupants of the houses I past or for blessings on some of the business I pass and I even pray Lord close down that drinking establishment. The other morning I was out walking as the kids were waiting for the school bus and God said pray for those kids some of them have never been in church the only time they hear God's word is when mom or dad use my name in vain. I have to admit I began to cry as I prayed for these kids I past, at different corners waiting on their bus knowing that they need Jesus. Before I started praying that 2 mile seemed like a long way but when I am have a conversation with God time goes fast. For me it is not praying for an hour but for 2 miles. May each of us continue in an attitude of prayer ready to pray at a moments notice
Blessings
